Helicopter Crashes in West Virginia With 6 People Aboard

Six people were aboard a helicopter when it crashed on Wednesday evening in Logan County, W.Va., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The aircraft was a Bell UH-1B helicopter, the agency said, and crashed near Route 17 in the southern part of the state. The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the F.A.A.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. An emergency services operator for Logan County confirmed that the crash had occurred.
